Jaime Escalera-Sanchez

Research Assistant

Jaime is currently a volunteer RA in the lab. He received a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the Universidad Iberoamericana de Puebla (Mexico) and is currently part of the Cognitive Neuroscience Research Master at Leiden University (Netherlands). He is also the former lab manager for the Social, Economic, and Organizational Psychology unit at Leiden University. His research primarily focuses on moral decision-making and social learning, addressing questions such as: what role do emotions play in forming moral judgments? And how do we learn to infer the latent motives driving the behavior of others? With questions such as this, he hopes to contribute to our growing understanding of the value-based processes that guide our choices while producing research that can inform policies and interventions to create a more equitable and just society.

Outside the lab, you are likely to find Jaime at the movies (especially if horror movies are out) or exploring historical sites and museums with his wife. â€‹
